Carol J. Ladwig Thran
Carol J. Ladwig Thran went
home to meet her Lord on August 3, 2015.
Carol was born January 25,
1941 in Columbus, WI to George and Winifred Kirley Ladwig, the second of seven
children. Carol attended Bennett Grade
School and Columbus High School. On
March 10, 1959 she married Bill Thran and they were blessed with three
children. During her married life, she
lived in Otsego, WI for 39 years, in Winter, WI for 12 years, and in Waupun for
1 ½ years. Carol enjoyed bowling, tent
camping, feeding birds, growing flowers, and going to casinos. She loved to work on genealogy and enjoyed winter
trips to Gulfport, MS. Carol worked at
Jack Winter in Columbus for three years, Racine Glove Co. in Rio, WI for 14 ½
years, and retired in 2000 from Enerpac in Columbus after 24 ½ years of
employment. She also worked part-time at
her son’s convenience store in Winter, WI.
Carol is survived by her
husband, Bill; two sons: James (Kathy) of Laguna Vista, TX, and Gary (Peggy) of
Waupun; a daughter, Deborah (Bill) Arvidson of Hawkins, WI; nine grandchildren:
Craig (Mary) Thran of West Bend, Jason (Stephenie) Foster of Portage, Becky
(Jeff) Johnson of Portage, Kimberly (Willie Homan) Thran of Fox Lake, Joseph
Foster of Round Rock, TX, Jamie (Mike Nichols) Thran of Radisson, WI, Tyler
Thran of Laguna Vista, TX, Jacob Arvidson of Hawkins, WI, and Hunter Thran of
Waupun; 10 great-grandchildren; three step-grandsons; three step-great-granddaughters;
three sisters: Georgia (Vince) Fitzgerald, Joyce (Augie) List, and Julie
(Blayne) Van Camp; a brother, Robert Ladwig; four brothers-in-law: Paul Felmet,
Robert (Chloe) Felmet, Paul (Kathy) Thran, and Michael (Sara) Thran; sister-in-law,
Claire Thran; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by
her parents; brothers: Allen and Niel Ladwig; sisters-in-law: Vivian Felmet and
Cheryl Ladwig; and nephews: Darrell Felmet and Scott Fitzgerald.
A time of gathering for
friends and relatives of Carol Thran will be held Saturday, August 22, 2015
from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun.
