Carol Jean Oestreich
Carol Jean (Williamson) Oestreich, 61, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on February 6, 2022 at SSM Hospital in Fond du lac with her children and family by her side.
Carol was born on February 27, 1960 to Jack and Lois Williamson in Fond du lac, WI.
Carol was the most wonderful, loving, caring person who would give you the shirt off her back. She always had a big smile on her face no matter what. She was one of the hardest workers; she would never leave something undone and would never quit anything she attempted.
She was a true believer in Christ and the salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ. She taught Sunday school for many years at St. John’s Church in New Fane, WI as her children were growing up. Her best moments of being a Sunday School teacher were watching and listening to the children recite their Christmas verses at the Christmas Eve service. Later in life as her and Brian changed churches to the Alliance Church of Campbellsport, she continued to do the Lord’s work as deaconess for the church.
Carol grew up as a foster child and was in many homes in her younger years. When she turned 16 she moved in with her father and lived with him until she married Brian. She always put her dad’s needs in front of her own.
She worked for Bandag Tire in North Fond du lac for many years.
On May 6, 1989, she married the love of her life and soul mate, Brian Oestreich.
Carol’s whole life revolved around her children and in the last few years her grandchildren. Especially as her children were growing up through grade school, high school and college. She loved going to all of their many sporting events to help cheer them on.
Carol also drove school bus for Johnson Bus for over 10 years. She loved watching the faces on the children as she handed out treats at certain holidays to the kids on the bus. In addition to driving bus she was a teaching assistant for special needs at Campbellsport High School.
Carol was an AEMT and fire fighter for the Campbellsport Fire Department for 15 years.
She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and Hospice Volunteer. Carol was currently working for the state of corrections at DOC in Waupun as an intake medical records provider.
Carol loved the outdoors, she loved to walk after work for five or six miles every day. She attempted the Frozen Otter three times and at the age of 56 she put in 48 miles in 18 hours through the Kettle Moraine State Forest, in the cold snowy third week in January.
She loved deer hunting and going up north to their cottage to enjoy the peace and quiet and hikes through the woods.
Carol loved to read books, she could read three or four books at the same time. Anything to do with the civil war always drew her in.
She loved to cook and have large family meals at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Many Sunday morning brunches were enjoyed by her family.
She also enjoyed riding her motorcycle until she broke her wrist while walking and could not handle her motorcycle anymore. She loved her 66 Charger, which has been a 28 year project even though she never got to drive it before she passed away.
Carol will always be remembered as having a smile on her face and a large loving heart.
Carol was an organ donor and as she has always been a giving person, she has donated her organs to help others to continue on in life.
She is survived by her husband Brian, five children Ruby Oestreich (Steven), Trisha Oestreich (Richard), Beau Oestreich, Kara Kelley (Clark), Brooks Nelson (Jeanine). Three grandchildren, Della Kelley, Harris Overton-Nelson, Theo Overton-Nelson. Her sister Harriet Racicot (Steve), John Weigel (Tanya), Michelle Walters- Perronne (Brent), Tamara Weigel-Hass. Her nieces and nephews Hannah Racicot (Benny), Jeanette Majano (Melo), Joel Racicot, Eric Walters (Tina), Devin Walters, Cody Weigel, Logan Weigel, Sophia Hass, Olivia Hass, Frankie Hass. Foster father and mother Don and Linda Kimpel.
Carol was preceded in death by her mother and father Jack and Lois Williamson.
The Oestreich family would like to thank the Campbellsport Ambulance Crew, Fond du Lac City Paramedics, and all the staff in the ER and ICU at SSM hospital in Fond Du Lac for their professional and caring services provided to both Carol and family members through this difficult time.
Services will be held at Campbellsport Alliance Church, N1876 Co Rd V, Campbellsport, WI 53010 on February 12th, 2022, with visitation from 9:00-12:00 followed by a service of remembrance at 12:00 and meal to follow.
