Charles R. Stewart

Charles Ray Stewart, 90, of Fond du Lac, passed away on March 26, 2021 at Hospice Home of Hope.

He was born on June 8, 1930 in Milwaukee Wisconsin, the son of the late Roy and Anna (Craw) Stewart.

Charles attended St. Joseph’s Grade School and Fond du Lac Senior High School in Fond du Lac.

On January 20, 1951 he married Marilyn Rose Guell at St. Mary’s Church with Rev. Raymond Fox officiating in Fond du Lac, WI.

Charles served in the United States Army and held positions throughout his career at Giddings & Lewis, Beloit Pipe & Dredge, Michels Pipeline and Rosenthal Construction.  Charles was a member of Holy Family Parish.  Charles enjoyed Adoration at Sacred Heart Parish and rosary making for the missions as well as his technical gadgets.

Survivors include his four children, Kathy (Ron) Roberts of Fond du Lac WI, Barb (Jerry) Witt of Barnes WI, Mark (Tracy) Stewart of Mount Calvary WI and Jean (Scott) Woodley of Appleton WI; eleven grandchildren, Greg (Jennifer) Roberts, Dan (Desirae) Roberts, Natalie (Joe) Bugliosi, Carrie (Rick) Langley, Jerry (Amber) Witt, Joe (Aria) Witt, Cody Stewart, Casey (Charles) Upton, Cayla Stewart, Annie Deschaine, and Faith Woodley.  Two step-grandchildren, Hunter (Fiancé Hailey Cramer) Kollman and Conner Kollman.  Thirteen great-grandchildren, Stephen, Lily, Brendon, Madeline, McKenzie, Carson, Christopher, Isabella, Briseidea, Abby, Ava, Jay, and Alivia.  He is further survived by brothers-in-law, Robert (Joan) Guell and Kenneth Guell; two sisters-in-law, Dolores Treleven and Joan Spiel of Decauter TX; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn in 2015; his parents; a brother, Harland (Gwen) Stewart; a sister, Dorothy Saar; a nephew, Michael Stewart; a niece, Karen Erickson Ruth; brothers-in-law, Milbert Treleven, Irving Guell, Jerry Guell and Steve Spiel; as well as a sister-in-law, Irene Guell; grand son-in-law, Josh Deschaine.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on April 9, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 200 South Peters Avenue, Fond du Lac.  For your health and safety, masks and social distancing are required and Covid-19 protocols will be followed. Burial is at Calvary Cemetery; cremation has taken place.
