Charles W. “Chuck” Westby

Charles W. “Chuck” Westby, 70, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2015, as the result of a drowning accident. He was born April 25, 1945, in Janesville, WI, the son of Oliver “Ollie” and Elizabeth “Betty” Mattson Westby. Chuck was a 1963 graduate of Janesville High School. He attended the University of Wisconsin –Madison where he lettered in wrestling. He later graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. Chuck owned and operated the Chuck Westby Insurance Agency for over 40 years. On May 6, 2006, he married Jean “Jeanne” M. Parman in Santa Barbara, CA. He was a member of Elks Lodge #57, Lakeside Evening Kiwanis Club where he served as president and was a recipient of the George F. Hixon award for meritorious service, the Fond du Lac Yacht Club for over 20 years and was on its board of directors. He volunteered countless hours with the Evening Kiwanis Club during Walleye Weekend at the World’s Largest Fish Fry. Chuck was a proud recipient of the Boy Scouts Eagle Scout award. Every Christmas, Chuck would carefully trim his five perfectly shirred trees with lights. He enjoyed slalom water skiing for countless hours with his long time friend, Kent Strehlow, and going out West to snow ski. A proud moment for Chuck was when his grandson, Trey, got up on his skis for the very first time. Chuck loved life and lived it to the fullest. He will be remembered for his laugh, his kindness, and all his willingness to help others.

Surviving Chuck is his loving wife, Jeanne, three children, Anne, Jim, and Amy, all of Washington State, two granddaughters, Caitlin and Madelyn, one special grandson, Trey, his brother, Jim (Sharon) Westby of Santa Barbara, CA, his sister, Carolyn (Bill) Holloway, of Cedarburg, WI, and many very dear close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Jeff Westby.

Visitation for Charles W. “Chuck” Westby will be on Thursday, August 20, 2015, from 4 to 8 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and again on Friday, August 21st, from 9 to 11 AM at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at the church. Cremation will follow the services.
