Clarence E. Marx

Clarence E. Marx, 86, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, September 30, 2018 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born March 14, 1932 in Fond du Lac, the son of Clarence and Gladys Ours Marx. Clarence graduated from Campbellsport High School in 1949. He served in the U. S. National Guard. He worked for the Fond du Lac County Sheriffs Department from 1960 – 1973. He was very involved with the Golden Gloves boxing program for many years. On March 27, 1976 he married Barbara H. Werdeo in North Fond du Lac. Clarence worked for Wells Manufacturing until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of Holy Family Parish. Clarence enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, golfing, playing sheepshead, and watching sports.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; seven children, Maureen Marx-Kilgore, Deborah (Tom) Steffen, Constance (George) Fechhelm, Roberta (Brian) Shea, Janet (Kevin) McCready, Charles (Loueena) Marx, and Michael (Amy) Marx; one step son, Tom Bragg; ten grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He is further survived by five sisters, Charlene Phillips, Joan Chittum, Mary (Leander) Herriges, Geri (Ray) Bodden, and Pat Marx; three brothers-in-law, Ronald (Darlene) Werdeo, Robert (Arlene) Werdeo, and Ken (Kathy) Werdeo; two sisters-in-law, Roseann Werdeo and Joanne Werdeo; a special cousin, Jim Marx; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kathleen Marx; son-in-law, Larry Kilgore; sister, Elaine Krug; brothers-in-law, Loren Phillips, Jim Chittum, John Krug, Elmer Werdeo, and Daniel Werdeo; and sister-in-law, Jeannette (Alvin) Strickland.

The visitation will be held Friday, October 5, 2018 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Holy Family Parish. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Sacred Heart Church. Cremation has taken place and private inurnment will take place in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.
