Clarence W. Pierce

Clarence W. Pierce, 88, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, April 27, 2013 at his residence.  He was born June 12, 1924 in Fond du Lac, the son of Frank and Pearl Starks Pierce.  Clarence graduated from Fond du Lac High School Class of 1943.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy from 1943 – 1946 serving in World War II.  Clarence was also a member of the 32nd Army National Guard from 1965 – 1973.  On August 30, 1947 he married Marjorie A. Boudry in Fond du Lac.  Clarence worked for the Soo Line Railroad for 35 years, retiring in 1986.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #75, the American Legion Firing Squad, VFW Post 1904, Eagles Aerie #270, Fond du Lac Red Arrow Club, C.C.C. Chapter 94, and the Wescot Gun Club.  Clarence enjoyed hunting and fishing, painting ceramics, jigsaw puzzles, and going on bus trips to the casino.

 

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; ten children, Barbara Penn, Fond du Lac, John Pierce, Mt. Calvary, Dale (Dottie) Pierce, Fond du Lac, Patricia Pierce, Fond du Lac, Nancy (Dave) Stubbe, Van Dyne, Joe Pierce, Eau Claire, Jeanette (Jeff) Beesley, North Fond du Lac, Diana (Mike) Mann, Fond du Lac, Judy Cloud, Fond du Lac, Wallace Pierce, Fond du Lac; 36 grandchildren; 84 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; three sisters, cousins, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and one brother.

 

The visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 3, 2013 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with Fr. Brian Beno officiating.  Entombment will follow in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.  American Legion Post #75 Firing Squad will conduct military graveside services.
