Clem C. Bergstrom

Clem C. Bergstrom, 79, of Fond du Lac, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 21, 2020 at his home with his wife (best friend of 57 years) and three daughters by his side. Clem was born on September 29, 1941 to the late Charles and Ruth (Cronk) Bergstrom.

Clem married Sharon Wittock on April 29, 1963 at St. Mary and St. Joseph Church in Iron Mountain, MI. They were very active members until moving from the area.

Clem graduated in 1960 from Newberry, MI. He was honorably discharged from the National Guard in 1966. Clem was certified in HVAC and partnered with D & L Heating and Plumbing in Iron Mountain. Eventually he became sole owner and served the community until he retired in 2001.

Clem was a lifetime member of the Elks Club, active member of the Knights of Columbus. He and his wife started a motorcycle club, “Pleasure Riders,” in Iron Mountain. Clem just posted a note at Joe’s Coffee Shop saying, “Anyone interested, meet us at Super One parking lot.”

Clem loved meeting for coffee with the guys at B’s Café. He also loved people and life. He had a gift of making everyone feel loved. He was always joking and making people laugh, bringing a smile wherever he went.

Clem also started a pickleball group at the YMCA in Iron Mountain. He had learned the sport in Texas. Clem liked “putzing” in his garage, pickleball, playing ping pong, golfing, playing cards, fishing, camping and family getting together.

After retirement, Clem and Sharon enjoyed traveling with their 5th wheel camper across the country. They ended up settling with a permanent site at Benson Grove in Mission, TX. They spent many winter months there and made many friends. One of their last trips was to Alaska with a truck and bed camper they purchased just for that adventure! They sold it after.

Clem had a very strong faith which showed deeply in his personality. He lived life to the fullest and left us many beautiful, wonderful memories which we will cherish forever.

Clem is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon; three daughters, Rose Cheree AuBuchon, Bridget Marie Bergstrom and Melissa (Michael) Tiedt; seven grandchildren, Samantha, Desmond, Abigail, Nikki, Michael, Eli and Danae; four great grandchildren; one sister, Carol (John) Fossitt; one sister-in-law, Judy (Jack) Beauchamp and one brother-in-law, Kenn (Beth) Wittock; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth (Bugg) Bergstrom; one granddaughter, Amanda Piatti; one sister, Patricia (Roger) Immonen; in-laws, Dick and Margaret Wittock and one brother-in-law, Richard (Pam) Wittock.

Per Clem’s wishes, private services will be held. Cremation has taken place. He will be buried in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain, MI.

Clem’s family would like to thank the hospice team and his dialysis team, especially Linda for their amazing care.
