Dalton Owen Kubelt

Dalton Owen
Kubelt, 93, resident of North Fond du Lac, passed away on Tuesday, April 5,
2016.  Dalton was born in Minneapolis,
MN, on June 10, 1922.  He was the son of
Pearl Welch and Ernest Kubelt.  On
January 18, 1946 he married Marion Kremer at St. Mary Church, Fond du Lac.

Dalton
served in the United States Marines during World War II at Guam, Bougainville
and Iwo Jima.  After his military service
he was a city of Fond du Lac Firefighter and served for 36 years, retiring in
1982.  He was also a sign painter for
many years. 

He belonged
to the Knights of Columbus Council #664, the International Association of
Firefighters Local #400, Presentation Catholic Church, was a proud member of
the Brothertown Indian Tribe, numerous bowling and golf leagues (hole in one at
Mascoutin Golf Course).  Dalton enjoyed
his poker club, trips to the casinos, and being surrounded by family and many
friends.  The family never met anyone who
didn’t like their dad!

He is
survived by three daughters, Kathleen (Richard) Aeby of Appleton, Nancy (John)
Gratton of Oshkosh, Janny Boehlen of North Fond du Lac; eight grandchildren,
Scott Swantz, Robin (Paul) Kolarik, Becky (Chad) Kopitzke, Shaina (Rob) Fish,
Sarah Aeby, Andrea (fiance Mike Ortiz) Boehlen, Ashley (Tony) Goldapske and Amanda
Boehlen; two step-granddaughters, Jaclyn (Chad) Guell and Jaelynn (Joel)
Sanger; 13 great grandchildren, Shayde, Lyndsey, Makaela, Rachel, “Junior”,
Clara, Blake, Evan, Noelle, Mariah, Chase, Kingston, and Emma. 

He is
further survived by one sister, Germaine Patt; one brother-in-law, Emil
Livieri; special friends, Howie Hinkley and Lance McClellan.

Preceding
Dalton in death are his parents, Marion, his wife of 52 years; sister, Virginia
Harney; brother, Ronald Kubelt; brother-in-law, Lee Patt; two sons-in-law,
Michael Swantz and Jerome Boehlen Jr.; one infant great granddaughter, Arianna
Boehlen; special friend, Primrose Schindleholz. 

Visitation: 
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Zacherl Funeral
Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac, on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 4:00
until 7:00 PM.  There is also visitation
the next morning, April 9, at Presentation Catholic Church, North Fond du Lac,
from 9:30 until 10:15 AM.

Service: 
At 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 9, A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated at Presentation Catholic Church. 
Burial will be at St. Charles Cemetery. 

The family
is grateful to Agnesian Hospice Home Care, the Harbor Haven staff and the
fourth floor staff at St. Agnes Hospital for their compassionate care given to
Dalton.
