Daniel C. Flanders

Daniel “Dan” C. Flanders Sr.,
79, of Fond du Lac, died on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at St. Agnes Hospital,
after saying his final goodbyes to his family.

 

He was born on May 11, 1938,
at the family residence in Fond du Lac, the son of Lee and Virginia Sperbeck
Flanders.  On June 6, 1959, he married
Judy M. Bender, in Fond du Lac.

 

Dan worked for Vulcan
Manufacturing in Fond du Lac as a draftsman. 
He then moved to Duluth Minnesota, where he was a manager for Zalk
Josephs Fabricators and retired from the Stoughton Plant.  He was a lifetime member of the Wescot Gun
Club, and was a Town of Fond du Lac Volunteer Fireman.  Dan loved fishing, hunting, and trap
shooting.  He always kept mechanically
busy and found ways to bring new life to old toys. 

 

He is survived by his wife of
over 58 years Judy Flanders of Fond du Lac; his children: Jeanne (Russel)
Schneider of Mt. Calvary, WI, Sue (Donny) Woorster of Fond du Lac, Dan (Sandy)
Flanders Jr. of Cottage Grove, WI, Deb (Dennis) Knight of Beaver Dam, WI, Dawn
Flanders of Fond du Lac, Rachael (Dave) Bertram of Fond du Lac; 14
grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; his sister, Linda Loehr of Fond du Lac;
his brother, Alan (Emily) Flanders of California; his sister-in-law, Nancy
Flanders of Belgium, WI; many nieces and nephews, and his life-long friend,
Jack Gutreuter of Fond du Lac.

 

He is preceded in death by
his parents, his granddaughter Rhonda Crook; his grandson, Joseph Flanders; his
brothers: Bill (Carolyn) Flanders and Bob Flanders; his father-in-law, Robert
Bender and his mother-in-law Helen Bender McCue.

 

Private family inurnment will
be held in the spring at Estabrooks Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers memorials
can be directed to the family.
