Daniel E. Zielicke

Daniel E. Zielicke, 80, of the Town of Lomira, died Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Villa Loretto Nursing Home.  He was born March 23, 1941 in Byron, the son of Roland and Lila (Blank) Zielicke. On October 5, 1963 he married Melody J. Lusk in Warrenville, IL. Daniel farmed his entire life until 2011. He was also past vice president of Oakfield Enterprise.

Daniel enjoyed boating, water skiing, gardening, traveling, and loved nature. He was very mechanical, building equipment on the farm and restoring old cars. He wasn’t a practical joker often but when he was he pulled it off good. He was hard working, honest, loved his family, had a strong faith and loved the Lord.

He is survived by his wife, Melody; three children, Ted (Wanda) Zielicke of Mount Calvary, Heidi Tibbits of Plover, and Tim (Jessie) Zielicke of Emmett, ID; ten grandchildren, Joseph Foote, Matthew Foote, Jeremiah (Elise) Zielicke, Cholena Zielicke, Hannah Tibbits, Andrew Tibbits, Abi Tibbits, Grace, Sharon Rose, and Corrie Zielicke; his siblings, Wayne (Gen) Zielicke of Clyman, Darline (Bob) Fellwock of Lomira, Stanley (Virginia) Zielicke of Byron, and Leslie (Marjorie) Zielicke of Byron; sister-in-law, Esther Zielicke of Eden; brother-in-law, Art (Gloria) Lusk of Valrico, FL; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.  He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Beth Zielicke; grandsons, Joshua Zielicke and Jacob Zielicke; and siblings, Merlin (Evelyn) Zielicke, Harold Zielicke, Genevieve (John) Cearns, Weiland and Joel Zielicke.

The visitation will be held Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Private burial will be held at a later date in Byron Cemetery.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Villa Loretto for the care and compassion given to Daniel and his family the last years.
