Daniel G. Lohse

Daniel G. Lohse, 62, of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at Hospice Home of Hope.

He was born on February 17, 1959, in Armstrong, WI, the son of Louis and Dorothy Kohlman Lohse.  He was a graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School.  On October 6, 1984, he married Vicki L. Schultz at St. John’s Lutheran in Plymouth. 

Daniel worked for Crown, Cork and Seal, in Oshkosh, as a warehouseman for 36 years.  He was a member of the Dotyville Sportsman’s Club, Lomira Sportsman’s Club, Izaak Walton, Boy Scout’s Troop 714, Brownsville Sportsman’s Club, and was a life-time HOG member and a member of the Fond du Lac HOG Chapter. 

He loved motorcycling and would drive for miles and miles with friends who became family.  He was an avid trap shooter and belonged to many teams over the years. His proudest moment was when Gregg joined the Fond du Lac High School Trap Team and shot his first 25.  Daniel also enjoyed working with and assisting Gregg to become an Eagle Scout.  In his spare time, he would enjoy tinkering with his antique snowmobiles and riding them in the bowl at Kiekhafer Park.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki Lohse of Fond du Lac, his son Gregory “Gregg” Lohse of Fond du Lac, his siblings: Arlene Wetzel of Waupun, Darwin (Dianne) Lohse of Lac Du Fambeau; his step-brother, Scott (Jean) Woodley of Appleton, his mother-in-law Gloria Schultz of Cascade, his sister and brothers-in-law: JoAnne Lohse of Fond du Lac, Lori (Robert Wolfe) Schultz of Marquette, MI and Randall Schultz of Cascade; his nieces and nephews: Lori (Scott) Vandeberg, Don (Raeann) Wetzel, Kim (Mike) Welsh, Karla (Paul) Kohlmann, Kirk Lohse, Doug (Valerie) Lohse and Dena (Matthew) Bachman.  He is further survived by his best friends: Tom (Kathy) Suprenand of Fond du Lac, Milo (Donna) Perry of Oakfield, Denis (Jean) Lau of Theresa and his many motorcycling friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother Eleanoris (Woodley) Lohse, his brother Leo Lohse, his step siblings: Diane and Emmett Leonhardt and Dean Woodley, and his father-in-law Leon Schultz

VISITATION: Friends may call from 2:00 – 6:00 PM on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac and from 9:30 – 11:00 AM on Monday, May 3, 2021, at Hope Lutheran Church, 260 Vincent Street, Fond du Lac.

SERVICE: Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 3, 2021, at Hope Lutheran Church, with Rev. Philip Enderle officiating.  Cremation has taken place.
