Daniel J. Halfman

Daniel John Halfman, 73, passed away on April 11, 2021, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King.

Danny was born on September 29, 1947 in Fond du Lac to Raymond and Eileen Halfman. He graduated from Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac with the class of 1966. After graduating from high school, Danny completed his apprenticeship in auto mechanics from Moraine Park Technical College.

In 1967, Danny joined the US Army and served during the Vietnam War. After returning from the service, Danny worked for Jeeps Auto Body, Mercury Marine,  Eilertson and Poch. His favorite job, though, was owning and driving his own rig – his car hauler.

He enjoyed spending his time outdoors hunting and fishing. For many years he had a campsite at Flanagan’s Pearl Lake Campsites. He had a talent for working on cars and spent many days at the car swap meets in Jefferson, WI. Danny spent many miles riding his Harley motor cycle. (suggest removing motorcycle) 

Danny is survived by his sons, Joe (Traci) Halfman and Paul Halfman; grandchildren, Eliana and Johanna Halfman; siblings, Kathleen (Darry) Andrews, Ellen (Tom) Coyne, James (Kathy) Halfman and Susan Schaad; sister-in-law, Kathryn Halfman; special friends, Kathy Tremblay, Jack Zander and Junior Mulholland; many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Pat Halfman; love of his life, Shelly Walker and great-aunt, Rose Duffy.

Services- Danny’s family will greet friends and relatives for a time of visitation from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division Street in Fond du Lac. A memorial service will follow visitation at 12:30 pm. Cremation has taken place. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery.

Danny’s family would like to extend a special thank you for the wonderful care of him by the first-floor staff of Ainsworth Hall at the Veterans Home in King and Heartland Hospice.
