Daniel Peter Bell

Daniel “Dan” Peter Bell passed peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2022, in his home amongst wife and children after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 21, 1955 to the late Jack and Ellen (Cooper) Bell in Waupun.

Dan grew up in the Horicon Marsh area and attended Oakfield High School where he was a standout on the baseball and track and field teams. A great deal of his childhood and early life were spent at the supper club his mother and father owned, the Wild Goose Inn. Countless memories and friendships were made there that served as warm memories for the entirety of his life. When he wasn’t at the restaurant, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father Jack and brother Mike. Later in life his passions shifted toward dog training, showing, breeding and boarding with his wife Dawn. Together they owned operated High Stakes Kennels up until his passing.

Dan is survived by his wife, Dawn Bell; two sons, Dustin (Caitlin) and James (fiancé Kristin); two stepchildren, Rion Letts and Zoe Teletzke; three grandchildren, Carter, Laken and Sloane Bell; niece, Bryanna Bell; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Michael Bell.

Visitation: Dan’s family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, July 14, 2022 for a time of gathering from 3:00 to 5:30 PM at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division Street in Fond du Lac. Cremation has taken place. Private entombment will take place at a later date at Ledgeview Memorial Park.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the SSM Healthcare Cancer Center and Agnesian Hospice Hope for their care and compassion given to Dan and the family.
