Darrin G. Weber

Darrin G. Weber, age 46, of Stockbridge, died on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at St. Paul Hospice Home in Kaukauna. He was born March 20, 1970 in Fort Atkinson, son of Wanda (Powell) Weber and the late Frank Weber.

He was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma in August of 2015 and fought it into remission with an immunotherapy after attempts of several different types of chemo. While in remission, in November 2016 Darrin began a new battle fighting infections; a fight which he couldn’t win.

Darrin was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge and had been working for Graphic Packaging in Menasha.

With an outgoing personality, Darrin was a man who loved to be around people to share in conversation, joke telling and fun. He loved to showcase his cooking skills, especially when he would make up a dish from the latest fish, fowl or wild game he had bagged while hunting.

Darrin enjoyed sports, especially cheering on the Chicago Blackhawks, Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers and Badgers. He enjoyed being a volunteer firefighter for the Fort Atkinson Fire Department when he was living in Fort. He also spent many enjoyable hours playing hockey at Haumerson’s Pond.

Above all of the blessing Darrin enjoyed in life, his greatest joy was that of his family. Nothing brought him more joy than to spend the day with those he loved outdoors, working in the woods, building things, and an overall handy man. One of Darrin’s life goals was to hand down his love of the outdoors and hunting to his children as they grew older. He will certainly be missed by all those who loved him.

Survivors include his wife: Lori; his children: Jaiden & Hunter Weber; his in-laws: Jim & Diane Zahringer; a sister: Mary Weber; 2 brothers: Doug Weber & Marty (Lisa) Weber; a sister-in-law: Jody Zahringer; a brother-in-law: Nick (Ashley) Zahringer; and his nieces and nephews: Kryistyna (Keith) Hook, Jason, Josh & Dusty Weber, Leah, Chloe & Taylor Zahringer.

He was preceded in death by his father, a brother: Derrick Weber, and a brother-in-law: Michael Zahringer.

Funeral service will be at 6:30 pm on Monday, January 30, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge with the Rev. Michael Betley officiating. Friends may call at the church from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Monday, January 30, 2017.

The family would like to thank Dr. Timothy Goggins and the staff at Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology for their effort and support through this difficult journey. Also, a huge thank you to St. Paul’s Hospice and the incredible staff, their attention to detail, and overall support to family and friends during Darrin’s stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to keep him comfortable for his end of life journey.

A memorial fund has been established in the name of Darrin G. Weber.

We’re not along when we’re in the great outdoors
We got his spirit We got his soul
He will guide our steps and our arrows home
The restless spirit still roams
Oh Fred Bear
Walk with me down the trails again.
Take me back, back where I be-long.
Fred Bear
I’m glad to have you at my side my friend
And I’ll join you in the big hunt before too long

-Lyrics from Ted Nugent’s “Fred Bear”
