David J. Boulay Jr.

David “Dave” Joseph Boulay, Jr., resident of Fond du Lac, WI, passed away on June 30, 2021 at the age of 81.

Dave will be loved and missed by his wife Joan (Schneider), his daughter Nicole Nelson and husband Bryon, grandchildren Aidan, Teagan and Addison; his sister Lynn Otto and husband Bob; his sister Margaret Klein; his brother John Boulay and wife Linda; his nieces and nephews, Michelle, Traci, Chris, Jill, Jason, Brent, Debra, Dellene and Donna; and many beloved family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Genevieve Boulay, brother-in-law Don (Margaret) Klein and in-laws John and Lillian Schneider.

Dave was born in Fond du Lac, WI on October 9, 1939. He graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. He spent the majority of his career working at Holsum/Ventura Foods in Waukesha, WI before retiring and moving back to Fond du Lac.

Dave and Joan were married on September 25, 1965. They were members of the Waukesha Jaycees where they made life-long friends. Dave was an avid gardener, spending countless hours each summer making his garden beautiful. Dave loved the Packers and Brewers and could sit and talk about them for hours to anyone who would join him.

Dave’s most precious job and title was that of “grandpa”. His three grandchildren were his whole world. He loved watching Aidan play baseball, getting enormous hugs from Teagan and watching Addy’s theater performances. He loved doing anything that involved them. One of his biggest joys was just sitting and having long conversations with his grandchildren. The love and pride he had for them was insurmountable. What a gift to be loved like that.

Dave’s daughter Nicole was a daddy’s girl. They had an incredible bond. Dave would come home from work in the evening and the two of them would spend hours playing catch in the front yard or basketball in the driveway. That bond lasted until Dave’s passing. Dave was incredibly proud of his son-in-law Bryon and thought of him as a son. He knew that his daughter and grandchildren would always be loved and cared for.

Dave was a kind and gentle man. He had a smile and laugh that would light up the room. He will truly be missed.
