David John Duley
David John Duley, 87, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Crossroads Care Center in Fond du Lac under the care of Agnesian Hospice. He was born on June 29, 1934 the son of the late Alois and Frances Duley (nee O’Rourke). After graduation from Campbellsport High School, he entered the Army.
On April 25, 1959, he married Marie M. Hall at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport. Together they raised eight children.
David loved flowers, gardening, the Brewers, and was very proud of his 40-year fellowship in AA. He enjoyed volunteering at Broken Bread. David was very proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. They referred to him as “Grumpy Grandpa”
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie; children, Patti Quimby, Kathy Hill, twins, Denise and Dennis Duley, Diane, Bill, and Tom; daughter-in-law, Danelle Flury Duley; five grandchildren Jennifer (Tim) Schwartz, Ashley (Brian) Schaefer, Meghan (Kyle) Buechel, Courtney Duley, and Captain Travis (Lynn) Duley; nine great-grandchildren, Jackson, Cooper, and Genevieve Schwartz, Tristin Duley, Callen and Dani Schaefer, Marlee and Ella Buechel and Josephine Duley; brothers, Jim (Pat) Duley, Pat (Roz) Duley, and Mike Duley; sisters, Betty (Bob) Westemeier and Mary Ellen “Millie” Duley. He is further survived by his sisters-in-law, Marilyn Duley, Kathy Behlke, and Lonie Hall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Mike and Tillie Hall; son, Tim Duley; brother, Frank (Lola) Duley; sister, Judy (Phil) Enders; sister-in-law, Agnes (Roland) Baumann; and brothers-in-law, Bernard (June) Hall, Leo G. Hall, and Gerald “Jiggs” (Elaine) Hall.
David’s family would like to thank the many people who prayed and helped him on his journey, especially, Dr. Tom Fabricius, Brittany at Crossroads, Kayla and the girls at Agnesian 5 West, and especially Diane, Joan, Shaunie, Jodi, and Stacey at hospice care. Thank you to all who helped us grant dad his serenity.
Cremation has taken place and funeral services will be held at a later date.
