Dawn Michele Pass

Dawn Michele Pass, age 59, passed away unexpectedly on October 9th at her home after a long battle with several health challenges. She was born March 17, 1962 in Fond du Lac to James and Claudia (Clohecy) Zehren. She married the love of her life, Jonathan S. Pass on October 25, 1980.

Dawn loved having family dinners and making sure her children would take home plenty of leftovers. She would spend countless hours on her garden, as she enjoyed showing her granddaughters how our food is grown. She will be remembered for her passion of holiday decorating and filling her home with laughter.

For many years Dawn worked at the Oshkosh post office. In later years she cooked for the elderly and provided them with a compassionate ear to listen – one of her many gifts.

She will be sorely missed by her devoted husband, Jonathan and three children Christopher (Jennifer) Pass, Alecia Pass and Janee’ Pass, all of Fond du Lac. She was a proud Nana to Gabriella, Mariana, Julia and Mia.

Dawn was the sister of Rick (Eva) Zehren of FL, Lisa Krueger of Fond du Lac and John (Julie) Zehren of CT. She will be missed and remembered by her three nieces and five nephews. She was preceded in death by her very special loving great-grandparents, Walter and Eunice Ballwanz.

Dawn treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nana. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. If you were lucky to spend more than five minutes in her presence, you were forever changed. As Dawn would say in regards to her family, “We put the word ‘fun’ in dysfunctional.”

Dawn’s family invites relatives and friends for a time of visitation on Thursday, October 14th at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and again, on Friday, October 15th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 200 S. Peters Ave., Fond du Lac, from 10:00 to 10:45 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Dawn will be laid to rest in Estabrooks Cemetery.

A special message from her loving husband: Dawn, I Love You!! You were taken too soon. You were my best friend. Your smile lit up my world. I will miss you every day but will also be happy knowing you are with God now.
