Donald C. Rhode

 

Donald C. Rhode, 89, of Rosendale,
died Friday, February 6, 2015, at Tower View Villa, Rosendale.

 

The journey through grace has
been bumpy, but Jesus has gone ahead to prepare a “perfect” landing in Heaven
with God our Creator.

 

He was born on December 18,
1925, in Town of Lamartine, a son of Louis and Esther Marose Rhode.    

 

On October 15, 1949, he
married Janell Corley at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Rogersville.  Together they farmed in the Town of
Lamartine.

 

Donald was a member of St.
Luke’s Lutheran Church, Oakfield.

 

He is survived by three
children: James (Anne) Rhode of Oakfield, Bruce (Patti) Rhode of Rosendale, and
Paul (Kelly) Rhode of Fond du Lac; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren;
a son-in-law, Jack Gartin; a sister, Lucille Czoschke of Oshkosh; and a nephew,
Larry (Mary Jo) Czoschke of Eldorado.  He
is further survived by other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by
his parents; his wife, Janell, on October 3, 1991; a daughter, Delon Gartin; a
great-grandson, Kyle Rhode; and a brother-in-law, Lawrence Czoschke.

 

The funeral service will be
held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at St. Luke’s Lutheran
Church, 245 South Second Street, Oakfield, with Rev. Christopher Goelzer
officiating.

 

The family will greet
relatives and friends on Saturday at church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of
service.

 

Memorials may be directed to
St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.

 

Inurment will take place in
spring in Knowles Cemetery (Town of Lomira).
