Donald Clayton Seibel

Donald Clayton Seibel, 87, of Fond du Lac, died on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at St. Clare Terrace.

He was born on December 29, 1934, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac, WI, the son of Oswald and Lillie Buege Seibel.  He was baptized January 27, 1934, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, North Fond du Lac, by Pastor Carl Lawrenz.  His sponsors were Clayton Krug, Carlton Krug and Delores Neubauer.

Donald lived in North Fond du Lac from 1934 – 1942. They then moved to Van Dyne.  He attended grade school at St. Paul’s Grade School, Friendship.  The family then moved to a farm in the Town of Empire and he attended St. Peter’s Lutheran School and was confirmed on April 10, 1949.  He then attended Fond du Lac Vocational School.  Don was employed at Bloedow Trucking Company, then Lamartine Creamery and Dick Bros Baking Company for 42 years and retired in January of 1995.  He also repaired TV’s and later went into lawn mowing and snow plowing from 1995-2009. In his retirement he also drove for Mach Funeral and Merz.

Donald married Marian Lorraine Batterman on August 21, 1954 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.  He was a charter member at Luther Memorial Church. They have three children: Sharon (Stephen) Kurtzahn, Sharleen Hahn and Daniel (Kelley) Seibel. Grandchildren: Rebekah (Adam) Seelow, Matthew (Sarah) Kurtzahn, Leah (Travis) Olson, Steven (Kara) Hahn, Michael (Jill) Hahn, Abigail (Jonathan) Svigos, Megan (Clayton Kruger) Seibel, Kelsey Seibel, Cole Falkner and Reed Falkner. Greatgrandchildren: Ella, Owen, Sylvia, Porter, Anna, Claire, Gabriel, Henry, Greta, Titus, Lydia, Samuel and Joanna.  His brothers: Ronald (Bette) Seibel and James (Pat) Seibel; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law.

VISITATION: The family will greet friends from 11:00 – 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Luther Memorial Church, 134 21st Street, Fond du Lac.

SERVICE: Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Luther Memorial Church, with Rev. Rob Sauers officiating.  Burial will be in Ledgeview Memorial Park.
