Donald Frederick Wetzel

Donald Frederick Wetzel, 74, a resident of North Fond du Lac,
passed away January 1, 2014 at the home of his son and daughter-in-law in

He was born May 29, 1939 in Green Bay, a son of the late,
William A. and Barbara Stoehr Wetzel.

On January 23, 1960 he married Arlene D. Lohse at Our Lady
of Angles Catholic Church, Armstrong.

Don was a graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School, lettering
in football and baseball. Don held various jobs throughout his life. For many
years he served as the Business Representative for the Teamsters Local #126 and
later Local #200. In his younger years, Don was active in amateur Boxing. He
enjoyed operating as an amateur radio operator, N.O.A.A. Weather Service as a
storm spotter, hunting, fishing and camping. Don was a long time and active
member of the Gratitude Club, Fond du Lac.

Survivors include, one son, Don (Rae Ann) Wetzel of Waupun,
one daughter, Lori (Scott) VandeBerg of Rosendale, four grandchildren, Samantha
Giese, Levi and Levin VandeBerg, and Zachary Leu, his former wife Arlene of
Waupun, two brothers, Larry (Sarah) Wetzel, Norbert (Carol) Wetzel all of Fond
du Lac, two sisters, Sandy (Doc) Hanson of Fond du Lac, and Barbara Ann (Joel)
Moore of Janesville. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives
and many friends, including his neighbors, David and Beverly Collins, who often
were of great support to Don.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, William
J. (Jo Ann) Wetzel of Green Bay.

Visitation: The
family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday January 7, 2014 at
Presentation B.V.M. Parish, North Fond du Lac, from 10:00 to 11:45 AM.

Services: A Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon at Presentation Parish,
701 Michigan Avenue, North Fond du Lac. Rev. Joseph Dominic will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Brandon.
