Donald H. “Mario” Butzke

Donald H. “Mario” Butzke, 69, of Campbellsport went to his heavenly home on Sat. July 18, 2015 at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac. He was born in West Bend on Oct. 23, 1945, the son of Marvin and Camilla “Milly” (nee Oetlinger) Butzke. Don was married to Donna Marie Haegler and later to Carol Jean Odekirk. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard. Don worked in the family business Butzke Sand and Gravel for 25 years and then for J & J Trucking where he still worked part time. He also plowed snow for the Town of Auburn and drove milk truck for Alvin Wiese. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, feeding birds and squirrels and watching the wildlife. Don was a tinkerer, inventing and building many projects in his work shop. But most of all, he enjoyed the time he spent with his family. 

Those left behind to cherish Don’ memory include his mother Milly, his children Christine (Brian) Weed of Fond du Lac, Cynthia Butzke of Fond du Lac, Jeffrey (Nicole Repp-Butzke) of Fond du Lac, Cathleen (Kendall) Schultz of Plymouth, Cheri (Tim) Schad of New Holstein and Donald (Michelle) of Fond du Lac, his grandchildren Joey, Josh, Frankie, Brian, Erin, Emma, Aaron, Ryan and Nathan, his former wives Donna Marie Himstedt and Carol Jean Butzke, his sister Karen Kreif of Campbellsport, his nephew Nick Kreif, other relatives and many friends. 

Don was preceded in death by his father Marvin. 

Visitation will be Saturday July 25th from 3:30 to 7:30 PM at the Twohig Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St. Campbellsport and Sunday, July 26th from Noon until time of services at St. John Lutheran Church, New Fane (N665 County Hwy S, Kewaskum). 

Funeral services will be Sunday, July 26th at 1:00 PM at St. John Lutheran Church, New Fane. Rev. Mark Eckert will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery with Military Rites. Memorials are appreciated to St. John Lutheran Church. 

The family extends a special thank you to the Campbellsport Fire Department Rescue Squad and the Fond du Lac Rescue Squad for their heroic efforts.
