Donald J. Gurno

Donald “Donnie” J. Gurno, 74, of Fond du Lac, died on Monday, January 11, 2021 at St. Agnes Hospital.

He was born on May 6, 1946, in Fond du Lac, the son of Edward and Emma Roth Gurno.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War.  Don was a driver of Hallcon Transport for the railroad.  He loved his trains, his dog Oscar and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his children: Joseph (Rebecca) Gurno of North Fond du Lac, Amber (James) Keller of Godfrey, IL, Brian Cook of FL and Brenda Ollermen of Sun Prairie; his grandchildren: Bryce Gurno, Brekken Kleinschmidt, Ariana Silber, Rhilynn Gurno, Alexandria Keller, Cassandra Keller, Kaitlyn Keller and Victoria Keller; his brothers: David (Jo Ann) Gurno, Richard Gurno, Edward (Jane) Gurno all of Fond du Lac and his twin sister Donna Russel of West Allis; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Shirley Altman, his brother James Gurno, his brother-in-law, Francis Altman, and his sisters-in-law: Sandra and Christine Gurno.

VISITATION: Friends may call from 1:00 – 3:00 PM, with Military Services to be conducted by Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75 at 3:00 PM on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac.  Cremation has taken place.
