Donald John Gitter

Donald John Gitter of 102 N. Berger Pkwy, Fond Du Lac passed away on Jan. 17,
2014 at home.
He was born in Waukesha on Dec. 27, 1928 to Frank &
Margaret (Stommel) Gitter.
On Aug. 16, 1950 he married Catherine Martin at
St. Bridgets, Town of Wayne.
Donald attended St. Kilian Parochial School.
Donald & Catherine farmed in the St. Kilian area until 1972. Before farming
and while on the farm he worked for the U.S. Postal Service. After farming they
owned the Slumberland Resort in Eagle River until 1973. He then started new home
construction as a carpenter and general contractor. He worked as a construction
supervisor across several states building restaurants, medical buildings and
apartment complexes.
He enjoyed playing sheepshead, collecting antiques and
painting landscapes.
Survivors include his children Frank (Dorene) of Mt.
Calvary, Susanne (Stephen) Lentz of Campbellsport, John (Brenda) of Kewaskum,
Joseph (Sandra) of Kewaskum, Christine (David) Le Doux of Clintonville;
grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Beck of Fond Du Lac.

He was preceded in death by his wife Catherine; parents Frank &
Margaret; his brother Wilbert; and a brother-in-law Jerome Beck.
There will
be no visitation.
