Donald W. Arndt
Donald W. Arndt, Sr., 87, of
Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at Hospice Home of Hope, Fond du
Lac.
He was born on October 17,
1927, in Fond du Lac, a son of Reinhard and Mabel Schmidt Arndt.
Donald served with the United
States Army in the 460th Amphibious Truck Company and with the
National Guard.
On August 27, 1949, he
married Shirley A. Schwartz at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac.
Donald worked as a foreman at
Mercury Marine for over 42 years and retired in 1989. He was a member of Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran
Church.
He is survived by seven
children: Donald Arndt, Jr., Sherry
(Dennis) Abitz, Linda Arndt, Pam (Mike) Schuppe, Gloria Arndt, Sue (John)
Tischer, and Laura (Don) Winke, all of Fond du Lac; ten grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren; a sister, Miriam Steinke; and a brother, Reinhard
(Jeanette) Arndt.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; his wife, Shirley Arndt, on January 19, 2000; and three brothers:
Raymond, David, and Daniel Arndt.
A memorial service will be
held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at Mach Funeral Chapel &
Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac.
The family will greet
relatives and friends on Tuesday at Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory
from 11:00 a.m. until the
time of service.
Entombment with military
rites will follow at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.
The family would like to

they gave our dad during his stay.
