Donald William Uelmen 

Donald passed away December 10, 2015 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. Donald was born September 7, 1929 to Dr. Leo and Daisy (Ferber) Uelmen in Campbellsport, WI. Donald (known to his family and close friends as Bick) attended St. Matthews Grade School and earned his diploma from Campbellsport High School. He joined the US Army at age 15 and served approximately 4 years.   He began farming near Elmore in the Town of Ashford and soon after married Anne Hughes on January 14, 1950. In 1958, Donald and Anne purchased what became the family farm in the Town of Osceola and continued dairying with their son, Donald J until his retirement. Donald was also heavily involved in milk marketing from an early age, serving as the youngest ever director of Pure Milk Products Cooperative (later AMPI). He was instrumental in the establishment and operation of Farmers Union Milk Marketing Cooperative in the state of WI and he eventually served as their general manager. Donald served on the Board of Directors of the Campbellsport Bank for many years beginning in 1967.   He was a member of the Bintzler-Waehler American Legion Post #347. Bick was proudly active in Democratic Party politics his entire life, even serving as a delegate to national conventions. In his retirement, he enjoyed gardening, baking bread, and collecting and restoring antique cars and tractors. He pursued more hobbies than can be counted including beer and cheese making. Donald was preceded in death by a son, Donald J., granddaughter, Michelle Volm, and son-in-law, Gary Volm. He is survived by his wife, Anne, daughter-in-law, Jennifer Uelmen, and children including Deborah (Kenneth) Grube, Deanna Uelmen, Denise (Timothy) Guell, Dr. Dean Uelmen, Darcy (Jeffrey) Budnik, and Dana (Paul) Berger. He is also survived by his 17 grandchildren: Lori, Bradley, Ryan, Kelly, Benjamin, Tiffany, Terrell, Thomas, Bethany, Haley, Jonathan, Tyler, Leo, Margaret, Maxwell, Samuel, and Anna. He is survived by 2 0 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother, David Uelmen and his wife, Patricia, one sister, Daisy Ann (Carey), and brother-in-law, James Feiten. He is further survived by three siblings: Daniel (Marilyn) Uelmen, Douglas (Evelyn) Uelmen, Diane Feiten and one brother-in-law, William Carey. He was also preceded in death by his wife’s parents, Clyde and Margaret (Dreifuerst) Hughes, brother-in-law Gilbert Buechel, and sisters-in-law, Sharon Hughes and Carol Brown. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Janet (Ronald) Hanson, Joan (Jack) Eggers, brothers-in-law, Leo Brown, and Pearson Hughes. The family would like to thank the Campbellsport EMTs, doctors, nurses and caregivers. A special thanks to Dr. Adam Karewicz, and constant helpers, Jay and Phyllis Miller and Ronny Hanson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Sunday December 13th at 4:00 PM at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church, W1562 County Road B Eden, with visitation from 1:00 PM until time of mass at the CHURCH. Rev.
