Doreen A. Andrews

Doreen A. Andrews, 87, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Agnesian Hospice Home of Hope. She was born October 16, 1931 in Hayward, Wis., the daughter of Francis J. and Nancy E. (Lindholm) Chrystal. Doreen’s father was in a TB sanatorium when she was born and eventually died there on January 31, 1933. Her mother remained a widow the rest of her life and along with Doreen, would live with Gust Lindholm, Doreen’s maternal grandfather, throughout Doreen’s school years. She graduated from high school in 1949 and moved to Gurnee, Ill. in 1950 to start life as a wife and mother. In 1959, Doreen and her family moved to Stoughton, Wis., residing there until 1971 when they moved to the Fond du Lac area.

Doreen worked for various organizations throughout her life. She worked in the business office at Moraine Park Technical College (MPTC) for 20 years, retiring in 1994. Doreen was an active member of Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church, including the Martha/Ruth Circle.

Doreen enjoyed traveling, visiting over thirty countries and many states with her husband Charles. Every year she returned to visit her hometown of Hayward. Doreen valued her family and friendships, including her childhood friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Charisse Sylvester; three grandchildren, Robert, Colleen and AnnaClaire Sylvester; and her cherished relationship with Cynthia “Cindy” (Martin) Paulsen and their family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Lucien Weyn, Marcel Tadych and Charles Andrews; a daughter, Chrystal Tripp; two infant daughters; and a son-in-law, Paul Sylvester.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM, Friday, December 7, 2018 at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church, 20 Wisconsin American Dr., in Fond du Lac. The funeral service will

begin at 11:00 AM with Pastor Tom Meyer officiating. Private burial will occur in Estabrooks Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church.
