Doris M. Cruckson
Doris M. Cruckson, 78, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 surrounded by the love of her daughters and sister, Lorie at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.
She was born June 10, 1935 in Boscobel, Wisconsin to Kenneth L. Rogers and Vivian M. (Oakes, Rogers, Balk) Carlson. She was a 1953 graduate from Portage High School. She married Clyde E. Cruckson on November 21, 1954 in Portage.
Doris was an avid reader. She enjoyed dancing, wedding/cake decorating, sewing, carving, crafting and volunteering for scouts, school and battered women (STRIVE). She has been for the past 14 years the President of the Boscobel Woman’s Relief Corps #32 and the GAR Hall, Inc. also was President of the State of Wisconsin WRC 2001 through 2009.
She most recently had been the President of the Boscobel (and state) Women’s Relief Corp and caretaker for the GAR Hall. Mostly, she enjoyed caring for her family and friends. She opened her heart to those around her and they too became family.
She is survived by her children, Lynn (Jim) Miller, Larry Cruckson, (Dale&Denise)Theel, Linda Cruckson, Laura(Wayne) Schneider. Brother, Ray (Hazel) Rogers, sisters, Lorie Hooker, Jan Rogers and Ele Joyner. Step family, Nancy (Dennis) Goff, Ron Carlson, Greg (Mary) Carlson, Kristi Schneider, Karen (Larry) Van Dam and Jeff (Lisa) Carlson; a brother-in-law, Larry Hierlmeier; Ted (Irene), Bob and Tom Balk. Grandchildren: Jamie, Casey, Hayley, Katie, Mac, Chris, Sabrina, Gina, Vanessa, Ana, Josh, Hannah, Rachel, Christina, Nichole. Great Grandchildren: Kenzie, Cameron, Ruby, Bella, Katherine, Leah, Daniel and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde E. Cruckson, daughter Lois D. Theel and parents.
A special Thank You to the staff at Meriter Hospital ICU for their strength, kindness and compassion following her heart surgery.
A Memorial Service at 10:30 am will follow the visitation at 9:30 am on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Salem Eldorado Methodist Church, W7910 Church Road (and County Road I) , Fond du Lac, WI 54937.
