Dorothy B. Schoepke

Dorothy B. Schoepke, 92, of Fond du Lac, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home.

 

She was born on July 8, 1920, in Marathon County, a daughter of Walter and Marie Kroening Bliese.  Dorothy was baptized on August 8, 1920, and confirmed on May 25, 1934, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau.

 

On May 5, 1941, she married Lester O. Schoepke in Milwaukee.

 

Dorothy was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. 

 

She was a nursing assistant for Fond du Lac County for 18 years.  Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, making afghans for all her family.

 

She is survived by three children:  Donald (Betty) Schoepke and Joanne (Ronald) Towne, both of Fond du Lac, and Diane Fenske of Milwaukee; seven grandchildren:  Joel  Schoepke, Sheila (Glenn) Cederholm, Kristin (Tim) Vix, Scott (Judy) Towne, Steve (Tonya) Towne, Sonya (Brett) Hutter, and Allison Fenske; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Janet Widule of  Wausau; three sisters-in-law:  Verda Bliese, Delores Bliese, and Phyllis Bliese; and many nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; four brothers:  Wilbur (Flora) Bliese, Dennis Bliese, Raymond Bliese, and Ralph Bliese; and three sisters: Lucille (Lawrence) Brandt, Arline (Rev. Alfred) Schroeder, and Ruth (Vernon) Worden.

 

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 606 Forest Avenue, Fond du Lac, with Rev. James Borgwardt officiating.  Burial will be in Estabrooks Cemetery.

 

The visitation will be on Saturday at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Redeemer Lutheran Church or Winnebago Lutheran Academy.
