Dorothy E. Schroeder

Dorothy E. Schroeder, 92, of Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Emeritus at Fox

River, Appleton.

She was born on December 1, 1920, in the Town of Lamartine, a daughter of George and Nellie Burgraff Pucker.

On May 6, 1944, Dorothy married Clyde F. Schroeder at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac.  Together, they farmed in the Town of Empire until retiring in 1976 and then moved to Fond du Lac.

Dorothy was a member of St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church, and enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, and cooking.

She is survived by a son, Karl R. (Linda) Schroeder of Appleton; two grandsons:  Bradley (Jenny) Schroeder of Sun Prairie, and Brett (Sara) Schroeder of Appleton; a great-granddaughter, Sawyer; two great- grandsons:  William and Griffin; a sister, Verna Immel; two sisters-in-law, Marlene Pucker of Eldorado, and Athleen Butzke of Campbellsport; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde, on December 3, 1999; three brothers:  Raymond Pucker, Merlin (Florence) Pucker, and Orlin Pucker; and two brothers-in-law, Harold Immel and Melvin Butzke.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 1600 South Main Street, Fond du Lac, with Rev. Michael J. Zuberbier officiating.  The visitation will be on Thursday at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.   Entombment will be at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.

Dorothy’s family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Emeritus at Fox River Assisted Living, Appleton, for their loving care of Dorothy for the past five and one half years.  Dorothy loved everyone working and residing at Fox River.  A special thanks to Theda Care at Home Hospice for their care and support of Dorothy.
