Dorothy Hoff

Dorothy Hoff, 82, of Fond du Lac, died on Friday, May 6, 2022, at Adelaide Place Assisted Living.

She was born on May 29, 1939, in Van Dyne, the daughter of Herbert and Mandina (Abraham) Leichtfuss.  She was a graduate of Oshkosh High School, Class of 1957.  On August 22, 1959, she married Wayne E. Hoff, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Town of Nekimi.  He preceded her in death on November 11, 1997.

Dorothy, along with her husband, founded Hoff’s United Foods Inc. in 1961.  At the time it was an eight-aisle grocery store and meat processing plant.  She retired from the business in 2000.  Dorothy was an active member of Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church.  She spent a lot of time at church, participating in Grief Share, Stephan Ministry and Chancel Guild.  Dorothy loved spending time with her family, taking care of her grandchildren, enjoyed traveling and spending time in her flower garden.

She is survived by her children: Tim (Mindy) Hoff of Lomira and Tami Roll of Cross Plains; her grandchildren: Amanda (Curt) Christian, Jordan (Amanda) Hoff, Houston (Jessica) Hoff, Devon Hoff, Sawyer Hoff, Shauna Hoff, Emily Roll (fiancé Paul Golen), Samantha (Jackson) Sandala and Jon Roll; six great-grandchildren, her siblings: George Leichtfuss of Oshkosh, Richie Leichtfuss of Oshkosh, Bob (Barb) Leichtfuss of Van Dyne and Don (Vicki) Leichtfuss of Van Dyne; her sister-in-law Aime Streblow of Mayville; her brothers-in-law: Rolland (Joey) Hoff and Rodney (Jane) Hoff, her special niece Julie Kissinger and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her siblings: Earl, Oscar, Arnie, Gerard and Marvin Leichtfuss and Sylvia Nygaard; her brothers-in-law: Don, Leonard and Clinton Hoff.

VISITATION: Family will greet friends on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church, 20 Wisconsin American Drive, Fond du Lac.

SERVICE: Memorial services will be at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. Tom Meyer officiating.  Inurnment will take place at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Brownsville.  Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Preceptor Hospice, Adelaide Place, or the Wisconsin Chapter of American Parkinson Disease Association.
