Dorothy Jaber

Dorothy Gladys Jaber, 101, of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family of natural causes on Friday, April 16, 2021.  She was born in Ripon on February 6, 1920, the daughter of William and Josephine (Resheske) Elms.  She attended Roosevelt Grade School and was a graduate of Ripon High School.  Gladys was employed at the Northwest Telephone Company prior to her marriage.  She married Nicholas “Shaffy” Jaber of Fond du Lac on June 28, 1941 and he preceded her in death on May 24, 1978.  Gladys was employed at Giddings and Lewis Electronics from February 1965 – June 1986.  She enjoyed her family, friends, and church.  Gladys was a Charter member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Christian Women’s Society.  She was a member of the resurrection choir, busy beavers, bereavement ministry and peace makers.  She also enjoyed biking, walking, golf, bird watching, land and water aerobics, traveling, the G & L retired ladies lunch group and the 500 card club.

She is survived by three sons, Roger (Gale) Jaber, Ralph Jaber, and Bruce (Mary) Jaber; five daughters, Charmaine (John) Luczak, Barbara Develice, Christine Lefeber, Paulette (Gordy) Schneider, and LuAnn Hettenhaus; seventeen grandchildren, Johnny Luczak, Cassandra Luczak, Heather (Tom) Schiek, Nicholas (Jackie) Luczak, Tiffany (Benny) Benkowski, Jeff (Jill) Jaber, Scott (Sarah) Jaber, Lisa (Chris) Reimer, Paul (Tracy Taszarek) Jaber, Nicole (Joseph) Schauer, Jessica (Mark Jozefowski) Jaber, Jeremy Jaber, Jason (Kaitlyn) Jaber, Rory (Samantha) Schneider, Kyle (Natasha) Schneider, Danielle (Jacob Werner) Hettenhaus, and Adam (Becca) Hettenhaus; 26 great grandchildren; special friends, Marian, June and Wendy.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons-in-law, Joe Develice and Don Lefeber; sister, Ruth (Ken) Parker; three brothers, Ralph Elms, John (Dorothy) Elms, and William (Eileen) Elms.

The visitation will be held Monday, April 26, 2021 from 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, April 26, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church, Holy Family Parish.  Masks are recommended while in attendance.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

A memorial will be established in Gladys’ name.
