Dorothy “Kate” Ritchie

Dorothy “Kate” Ritchie of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully on
Saturday, Oct 10, after being cared for by her children while in Hospice at
Home.  Kate was born February 25, 1931,
in Bristol, TN to Mack and Myrtle (Vance) Stophel.  She graduated from Bristol, TN,
High School in 1950.  After graduation,
she moved to Baltimore, MD, where she worked for the Glenn L. Martin
Aircraft Company as a secretary.

While living in Baltimore,
she met Robert Ritchie of Fond du Lac.  They were married in Baltimore
on September 13, 1952, after which they came to Fond du Lac to reside.

She worked for Damrow Company, Wisconsin Telephone Company,
Meat Cutters Local 73, and finally went to work as a bookkeeper for Plumbers
& Steamfitters Local 206/400. After 22 years, she retired in 1993. She was
then inducted into the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 400 Hall of Fame in
2014. 

She was a member of Holy Family Congregation since 1954, and
was also a member of the Officer and Professional Workers Union.

She enjoyed golf, traveling, crocheting, reading and playing
cards, as well as spending time with her children, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.

Survivors include six children: Debra (Mike) Langacker of
Menasha, Robert (Barb) Ritchie, Jeffrey (Mary) Ritchie, Michael Ritchie, Terri
(Glenn) Bulman, Timothy (Conni) Ritchie of Fond du Lac, fourteen grandchildren,
eleven great-grandchildren, and a sister Nancy
(Coy) Langford of Huntsville, Al.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Ritchie,
her parents, two sisters Mary A. Hagy of Winston Salem, NC., Lucille Bowen of Baltimore, MD.,
and two brothers Mack Jr. Stophel and George Stophel of Winston Salem, NC.

Visitation:
Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 13, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the
Zacherl Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held at Sacred Heart
Church
, Holy Family
Parish, on Wednesday October 14, 2015 from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM.

Services: A Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart
Church
, 200 South Peters Avenue, Fond du Lac. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery.
