Earl A. Johnson

Earl Arthur
Johnson, formerly of Fond du Lac, passed away on December 30, 2018 at Seasons
Hospice in Waukesha. He was born November 4, 1933 in Onalaska to George and
Ethel (Gear) Johnson.  


Earl
graduated from Onalaska High School in 1951. After graduation, he traveled to
Georgia to play baseball as a catcher and played for the St. Louis Cardinals
minor leagues. He later played semi-pro baseball in North Dakota, Minnesota and
Wisconsin.


Earl married
JoAnn Hayes and settled in Onalaska. Together they had one adopted son, Steve
and one daughter, Bonni. JoAnn passed away in 1981.


Earl married
Mary “Kathy” Kathleen Langenfeld Pickart on April 7, 1981.


Earl worked
in sales for Superior Supply Co. for 15 years. Later, Earl and Kathy started
their business, E&M Associates Janitorial Supply in 1983. They retired in
the late 90’s.


Earl is
survived by his wife, Kathy; one daughter, Bonni Holland; two step-sons, Joseph
(Dawn) Pickart, Michael (Margaret) Pickart; one step-daughter, Ann Marie
Pickart (Chris Lisko); ten grandchildren and step grandchildren, four great
grandchildren and one great great grandson.


He is
further survived by one sister, Lorraine Hockett; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce
Langenfeld, Dave (Tami) Langenfeld, Ron (Donna) Langenfeld, Don (Joanie)
Langenfeld and Gerald Bartel; other relatives and many friends.


Earl was
preceded in death by his son, Steve, his parents, brothers Francis, Willard,
Thomas, Everett and sisters Ila and Bernice and their spouses, brother-in-law
Ken Langenfeld and sister-in-law Nancy Bartel.


SERVICES:
Earl’s family will greet relatives and friends for a time of visitation at
Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac, on Monday, January 7th
from 10:00 to 11:45 AM. A celebration of Earl’s life will be held at 12:00 PM
at the funeral home.
