Edna M. Breister

Edna Marie Burroughs Klaske Breister, 91, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Hospice Home of Hope with family by her side. She was born June 11, 1927 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Orren and Amanda Rady Burroughs. Edna graduated from Fond du Lac High School in 1935. On September 11, 1948 she married Nicklas A. Klaske at Church of Peace and he preceded her in death on October 31, 1961. Edna married William B. Breister on May 14, 1966 in Waukegan, IL and he preceded her in death on March 2, 2000.

Edna was a lifetime member of the Eagles Club Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, reading Harlequin books, crossword puzzles, family breakfasts with the S.M.U.T.’s (Sisters Must Unite Together) every other Saturday morning for the past 18 years, going to Oneida, and golfing. Edna loved playing cribbage and sheepshead with family and friends, and watching the Green Bay Packers with her fingers and toes always crossed.

She is survived by her children, Sherry (Jim) Feuerhammer of Fond du Lac, Scott (Jennifer) Klaske of Pennsylvania, Cindy (Greg) Konen of Fond du Lac, Dennis (Pat) Klaske of Fond du Lac, Carla (Brian) Schumacher of Van Dyne, and Bill Breister of Fond du Lac; nine grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; one brother, Don (Gen) Burroughs of Green Bay; brother-in-law, Harry Mielke of Fond du Lac; sister-in-law, Elaine (Al) Nahum of California; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Nicklas and William; an infant daughter, Karen; sisters, Margurita (Pete) Langolf, Pauline (Robert) Spanbauer, Helen (Roger) Thompson, Joan Mielke, and Katherine Peachy; and brother, Orren “Butch” Burroughs II.

The visitation will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Agnesian Hospice Home of Hope in Edna’s name.
