Edward Stephen Schneider

Edward
Stephen Schneider, 89, a resident of Fond
du Lac
, died peacefully on June 6, 2015.   He was born December 24, 1925 in Forest Township,
the son of Victor and Frances Halfmann Schneider.  He married Romilda (Millie) Buechel on
February 11, 1950.  She preceded him in
death on December 31, 1983.  On May 3,
1985 he married Marie Entringer Wirtz.

Edward was a
graduate of St. Peter Grade School.
He served in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theater
from 1945 to 1947. He was employed by Olsen Transportation and later C.W.
Transport. Following his retirement he was employed by Anders Auto Parts and
Badger Tire.

He
participated in several state and national truck driving competitions and in
1965 he won the National Straight Truck Rodeo Championship. He was a member of
Holy Family Parish, the Holy Name Society, St. Joseph Society, Knights of
Columbus Council #664, and a charter member of the American Legion Abler-Engel
Post #0454.

He is
survived by his wife Marie; his children: Sue (Stephen) Zimmerman of Fort
Atkinson, Stephen (Diane) Schneider, Michael (Lila) Schneider, Mark (Cindy)
Schneider, Ann (Charles) Anders, all of Fond du Lac, Jane (Paul) Sundheim of
Mukwanago, Paul (Jeanne) Schneider of Fond du Lac, Teri (Chris) Lemke of Baraboo,
and Dean (Cathy) Schneider of Dallas, Georgia; 
grandchildren: Jessica (Terry) Granec, Katie (Craig Nelson) Zimmerman,
Stephanie (Dustin Jones) Schneider, David Schneider, Laura (Eric) Fritz, Pam
(Matt) Stater, Chris (Kevin) Senn, Becky (Bob) Meidenbauer, Tom (Catherine)
Anders, Lynn (Peter Kohlhoff) Anders, Robert Anders, Anders Sundheim, Stephen
Sundheim, Karlie Schneider, Daniel Schneider, Mellissa (Jayson) Benson, Nikolas
Lemke, Jackalynn Lemke, Jakob Lemke, Courtney Schneider, Sydney Schneider and Derek
Schneider; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Edward is
further survived by his siblings: Olive Richter, John (Marian) Schneider,
Frances Stubbe, Alois (Bette) Schneider, Victor (Mary Lou) Schneider, James
Schneider, Mary White and Patricia Pittler; 
sisters-in-law:  Carol Schneider, Valeria
Buechel and Alice Petrie; a brother-in-law, Ambrose Buechel; his  step-children: Carol (Terry) Thirion, Mary
(Steve) Bergman, Jean Schenk and Patty Wirtz-Schreurs; step-grandchildren:
Tracy (Brian) Carpey, Brian (Christina) Thirion, Mark (Dawn) Wirtz, Jason
Wirtz, Tony (Gretchen) Bergman and Gina Kleiser; five step-great-grandchildren,
other relatives and many friends.

He was
preceded in death by his parents, his wife Millie, his father-in-law and
mother-in-law: Henry and Agnes Buechel; his great-granddaughter Grace Anders; siblings:
Marie (Oral) Krug, Gregor Schneider, Norbert (Evie) Schneider, Robert
Schneider, Ernest Schneider, Martha (Al) Laudolff,  Anthony (Marlene “Sue”) Schneider and Leo
Schneider;   brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law:
Gerald Richter, Willard Stubbe,   Judy Schneider, Lee White, Robert Pittler,
Leander (Margaret) Buechel, Viola (Lester) Schmitz, Clarence Buechel, Marion
Buechel and Harold Petrie and stepson, Bill Wirtz. 

Visitation: Visitation will be held on Thursday
June 11, 2015 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the Zacherl Funeral Home, Fond du Lac. Visitation
will also be held on Friday June 12, 2015 at Holy
Family Parish
Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac, from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated at Holy
Family Parish
Church
on Friday at 11:00
AM. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview
Memorial Park, Fond du Lac.

In lieu of
flowers, memorials in his name may be directed to St. Mary’s Springs Academy
or Holy Family Parish.
