Edwin G. Fenske

Edwin G. Fenske, 90, of North Fond du Lac, died Monday, September 9, 2013, surrounded by three generations of family, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.

He was born on December 21, 1922, in the Town of Springvale, a son of John A. and Emma E. Quade Fenske.

On April 6, 1946, he married June L. Schreiber at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Rogersville.  They enjoyed 63 years of marriage.

Edwin worked as a machinist for many years, retiring from Automotive Sales and Service.  Known for his ability to repair anything mechanical, he was constantly busy.  He enjoyed many great friendships throughout life and possessed the patience to teach his children and others the most practical way of getting a job done.  His summers were filled with steam and tractor shows, firemen’s picnics, and parades.

Edwin was a member St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Fond du Lac.

He is survived by four children:  Ken (JoAnn) Fenske of Fond du Lac, Kathy (Jerry) Eaton of Fond du Lac, Karen (Greg) Mitchell of Nome, Alaska, and Keith (Ulli) Fenske of Hirschberg, Germany; six grandchildren:  Brett (Heather) Fenske of Charlotte, NC, Amanda (Seely) Moe of Fond du Lac, Dr. Kathryn Klein (Dr. Patrick Wagner) of Green Bay, Nicholas (Jessica) Klein of Bremerton, WA, Lauren and Bryan Eaton of Fond du Lac.  He was blessed with four great-grandchildren: Isabella, Kendall, Kara, and Owen.  He is further survived by a sister, Betty (Duel) Stobb, and two brothers:  Ervin Fenske and Donald (Carolyn) Fenske.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, June, on June 1, 2009; an infant son, Steven; two sisters:  Arlene and Margaret (Harold) Preissner; two brothers:  Hubert (Marilyn) Fenske and Harold Fenske; two sisters-in-law, Genevieve Fenske and Marie (Robert) Sanders; and a brother-in-law, John (Arlene) Schreiber.

The funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2013, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1010 Adams Avenue, North Fond du Lac.

The visitation will be on Monday at church from 4:30 p.m. until the time of service.

Burial will be in Ledgeview Memorial Park.
