Elaine D. Hanna, 92, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, October 9, 2014, at St. Francis

Fond du Lac.

 

She was born on November 4,
1921, in Chicago, a daughter of Arthur A. and Amanda S. Schierkolk Fuhrmann.


Elaine graduated in 1939 from Foreman High School, Chicago,
and worked for three years at Montgomery Ward.

 

On October 9, 1942, she
married Wilbert “Wib” O. Hanna at St. Luke’s Ev. Lutheran Church
parsonage, and together they farmed in the Oakfield area.

 

They moved to Fond du Lac in 1967, and Elaine began working at the Fond du Lac Reporter until
her retirement in 1983.

 

Elaine was a member of St.
Luke’s Ev. Lutheran
Church
, Oakfield.

 

She is survived by three
children:  Dean (Carla) Hanna of
Taycheedah, Janice (Robert) Waldschmidt of Fond du Lac, and Denise (Charles)
Schaumburg of Oakfield; eight grandchildren: 
Wes (Sara) Schaumburg, Wade (Jessica) Schaumburg, Wendy (fiancé, Josh)
Schaumburg, Kurt (fiancée, Melissa) Waldschmidt, Ken Waldschmidt, Kim (Joel)
Finley, Aaron (Tina) Hanna, and Lisa (P.J.) Kohlman; 11 great-grandchildren:  Christian, Jordan, Cassidy, Grant, Raelynn,
Brennan, Wyatt, Karlee, Evangeline, Violet, and Dean; a sister, Carol Watts of
North Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by
her parents; and her husband, Wilbert, on December 31, 2005, after 63 years of
marriage; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

 

The funeral service will be
held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at St. Luke’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 245 South Second Street,
Oakfield, with Rev. Christopher Goelzer officiating.

 

The visitation will be on
Tuesday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

 

Entombment will be in the
Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview
Memorial Park
.

Lutheran Academy
