Eldore Begalke

Eldore Begalke, 100, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020 at the Woodlands of Fond du Lac. He was born on February 7, 1920 in Glidden, Wisconsin, the son of the late John and Augusta Begalke. He and Joyce Buck were married on June 15, 1942.

Eldore served in the Army from 1942—1945 where he was wounded in action in the European Theater in WWII. He also received the Purple Heart. Eldore worked at Universal Foundry and 35 years for Mirro Aluminum in Two Rivers.

He is survived by one son, Barry L. Begalke of Fond du Lac; one daughter Sandra L. (Dave) Rahn of Eden; 7 grandchildren, Mark (Cheryl) Rahn of Eden, Diana Rahn of Menasha, Jeffrey Rahn of Eden, Brian (Heidi) Rahn of North Fond du Lac, Rachel Begalke of Mississippi, John Begalke of Green Bay, and Rebecca (Andre) La Duc of Oregon; one step-grandson, William Behrendt; 8 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He is further survived by many nieces and a nephew.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; seven sisters, Martha, Olga, Emma, Natalie, Ida, Edna, Dorothy and Evelyn; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Begalke, one son-in-law, Jerome Kumbalek; and one granddaughter, Bonnie Begalke.

There will be a private burial of cremated remains at Ledgeview Memorial Park with no formal services held.
