Eleanor “Ellie” Mulholland

Eleanor “Ellie” Mulholland, 83, passed away recently after a long battle with COPD.




 




The former Eleanor Turner was born in the Township of Liberty in Vernon County, Wisconsin, to the late Kenneth and Vesta Turner. She spent her childhood there and in Clinton, Wisconsin before moving to Waupun, Wisconsin in the early 1950’s. She raised her family while living in Waupun, Brandon, Oakfield, and Fond du Lac.




 




Eleanor is the retired postmaster of Glenbeulah, Wisconsin, finishing her career there after working for a number of years in various positions at the Oshkosh Sectional Center of the US Postal Service. She attended Moraine Park Technical Institute in the late 1960’s.




 




She loved to do crafts like crocheting and for a number of years had a rag rug-making business with her son Skip. She never passed by a rummage sale without stopping.




 




Eleanor is survived by seven of her eight sons: Brick “Sandy” of Fond du Lac, Blair “Scott” (Alice) of Fond du Lac, Brent of Manitowoc, Brad of Knoxville, TN, Brian (Jo) of Kissimmee, FL, Barry (Stepheny) of Lubbock, TX, and Boyd (Kim) of Marietta, GA. She is further survived by her siblings: Kenneth Turner of Viroqua, WI, LaVonne (Pete) Tiffany of Clinton, WI, Larry (Marian) Turner of Shopiere, WI, and sister-in-law Elisabeth Turner of Crestview, FL; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and Sue Luckey, a very special family friend and Eleanor’s caregiver.




 




Eleanor is preceded in death by her son Blaine “Skip,” infant daughter Traci, her parents, and two brothers: George Turner and Cecil Turner.




 




SERVICES: A memorial service will be held Saturday February 27th at 1:00 pm at Ascension Lutheran Church, 901 Cty Rd V, Fond du Lac with family greeting relatives and friends from 12:00 pm. Cremation has taken place so visitation with family will take place at the church before or after the service. Inurnment will be in Ledgeview Memorial Park during a private family ceremony.




 




In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated in her name to Hospice Home of Hope, 400 Hwy K, Fond du Lac, WI 54937, or please make a donation in her name to your local animal shelter. If you must send flowers, NO CARNATIONS PLEASE!
