Eleanor J. Becker

On October 19, 2020 we lost the best wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Eleanor “Elly” Jean Becker (Luczak), 90, of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, passed away suddenly from Covid-19 at St. Agnes Hospital.

Elly was born on October 7, 1930. She attended school at St. Joseph’s and she continued her education at St. Mary’s Springs Academy, graduating in 1946. While at Springs she was crowned Prom Queen her senior year, one of her favorite stories to tell.

On June 23, 1951, she married the love of her life Kenneth “Butch” Becker at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac by Father Riordan.

Elly worked as a legal secretary for Schneider and Boyle, worked retail at The Sport Shop, Hoppers Ski and Sport, and Jack’s Team Sports, where she retired in 2013. She loved working and cherished the friendships she made.

Family was everything to Elly. Being present at her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren’s school, sporting and dance events were very important to her. She loved her Friday night fish fry at the Knights of Columbus, along with a scotch and water and her popcorn. The annual Becker and Luczak family reunions were a highlight of her summer. She was a lifetime member of the KC’s Ladies Auxiliary as well as St. Joseph’s/Holy Family Catholic Community. Her faith was very important to her as she gifted many with guardian angels and St. Christopher medals.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Kenneth “Butch” Becker; children, Karen (John) Ruedinger, Judi (Jerry) Mattefs, Joan (Jeff) Pinch, Bruce Becker, and Jennie (Mark) Grebe; 10 Grandchildren and 4 Step Grandchildren John (Natalie) Ruedinger, Melissa (Ryan) Benzinger, Laura Ruedinger, Jamie (Dave) Zappa. Elly is further survived by her siblings Janet (Paul) Snider, Barbara Boulay, David (Sandra) Luczak, John (Charmaine) Luczak, and many nieces and nephews.
