Ellsworth M. Hoyt

Ellsworth M. “Shorty” Hoyt, age 86, of Popple River, died on the morning of December 6, 2019 at Libby’s House Senior Care Facility in Chilton.  He was born on July 20, 1933 son of the late Lowell and Leola (Hagen) Hoyt.  He married Audrey Monroe on June 11, 1955, she preceded him in death in 2000.  Ellsworth later married Janelle and she preceded him in death in 2017.  



Shorty was born and raised in the Popple River area.  He then established a home and worked in the Milwaukee area as a semi truck mechanic. He later retired and found himself returning to home in the Popple River area again.  



Shorty was a true Wisconsin fisherman and hunter.  He loved the outdoors and being able to get out the woods or lake whenever he could.  Shortly was also a true spoken man who loved his family and protected them in any way he could.



Shorty will be missed and survived by his children:  Elizabeth (Mark) Malin, Daniel Hoyt, and Rebecca Reyes-Duke; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 more arriving soon.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Hoyt; and his siblings:  Allen, Isaac, and Francis (Foti).  



A celebration of Shorty’s life and gathering will take place at a later date and time.  



A memorial fund has been established in Ellsworth Hoyt’s name.  Donations can be made directly to Libby’s House or Alzheimer’s research.
