Emil C. Doerr

Emil Charles Doerr, age 73 of Sherwood, died on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Neenah.  He was born September 18, 1948 in St. Louis, MO, son of the late Emmett & Mary Martha (Hatch) Doerr.  

Emil was a selfless man with a generous heart who gave of his time and talents to the Chilton Catholic School, Global Outreach of Menasha, the Boy Scouts of America, the Calumet County Parks Department and loved buying tickets for Ducks Unlimited.  

He was a man who enjoyed the great outdoors hunting & fishing and tending to his garden.  He was also known for his vast coin collection but will fondly be remembered for his generosity to others, his heart of faith and his love for his children and cherished the times he could spoil his grandchildren or savor an opportunity to enjoy sugar.  Akin to St. Francis, Emil gave of himself to the poor and lovingly tended to the animals that crossed his path.  

Survivors include his children: Becky (Brad) Hansen, Trisha (Nick) Daul, Kori (Denver) Plett, Alicia (Jacob) Schiess, Eric (Brittany) Doerr, Patrick Doerr, Bethany (Dan) Fecht; 8 grandchildren: Cohen, Elise & Isla Hansen, Emma & Ayden Daul, Elizabeth, Phoenix & Luna Schiess, along with 1 baby Fecht and 1 baby Doerr arriving soon; his siblings: Mary Ellen (Bill) Ceverha, Emmett (Bridget) Doerr, Jr., Betty Doerr, Tom Doerr, John (Julie) Doerr; and his godchildren: Courtney Churchill & Jonathon Doerr.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  

Emil was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandchild: Declan Fecht.  

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:30 pm on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St. ) in Chilton with Rev. Jon Thorson officiating.  Burial will be in the Resurrection Cemetery in Thiensville, Wisconsin.  Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 10:00 am until 12:00 Noon on Friday, February 11, 2022.
