Ernest L. Vande Berg
Ernest L. Vande Berg, 75, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, November 17, 2013, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.
He was born on November 12, 1938, in Fond du Lac, son of Germaine “Jim” D. and Ethelyn M. Gysbers Vande Berg.
Ernie was a 1957 graduate of Oakfield High School and served with the United States Air Force from 1957-1962 in Spain.
On May 11, 1963, he married Jill Rosalie Fearne McLean and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
He worked as a precision machinist at Giddings & Lewis for 14 years and then for 25 years at Documation/Bradshaw in Melbourne, Florida.
Ernie was a member of Grace Reformed Church, Fond du Lac. He was a very God centered man who made all of his decisions based on the Lord and as a result he was a very kind, easy going, calm, and loving man.
He is survived by his wife, Jill Vande Berg; a son, Aaron (Richelle) Vande Berg of Wrightstown, and their son, Joshua; a daughter, Denise (Tim) Nopper of Oakfield, and their daughters: Jessica and Sarah; three sisters: Marjorie (Richard) Launders of Fond du Lac, Andrea Vande Berg of Melbourne, Florida, and Judith (John) Marsden of Fond du Lac; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Betty Vande Berg; and a brother, Gary Vanden Berg.
The funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at Grace Reformed Church, 163 E. 18th Street, Fond du Lac, with Rev. Barry Vegter officiating.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday at church from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
