Ervin Roy Hinn, Jr.

Ervin Roy Hinn Jr., 84, of North Fond du Lac, passed away at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home on Saturday, April 12, 2014.  Erv was born in Manitowoc on March 21, 1930, a son of Ervin Henry and Violet Lydia (Trippler) Hinn.

On June 16, 1956 Erv married Patricia Anne Sage at St. Joseph Church, Fond du Lac.

Erv served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict.  He was employed as a long distance truck driver for Anchor Cartage, Gateway Transportation and then with C. W. Transport from which he retired in 1984.

Mr. Hinn was a member of Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in North Fond du Lac.  He was also a member of the Elks BPO of Fond du Lac, the Eagles Club Aerie 270 and the VFW Post 1904. 

Erv enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs on television and futzing around in the garage.  He loved his time with family and friends.

He is survived by Patricia, his wife for almost 58 years; seven children, Peter (Jo Ann) Hinn, Susan (Patrick) McManus, Tracy Merwin, Larry (Special Friend, Nancy) Hinn, all of Fond du Lac, Barbara (Ted) Kielb of Port Charlotte, FL, Mary Jo (Jim) Pfeiffer of Waupun and Michael (Lisa) Hinn of Lawrence, KS; grandchildren, Eric Hinn, Matthew Johannes, Yvonne (Scott) LaShay, Renee (Mark) Pasewald, Allison Hinn and Evan Merwin.

Erv is further survived by his siblings, Robert (Edith) Hinn, Ralph Hinn, Patricia Johnson, Janet Halverson, Andrea Roach and David (Kathy) Hinn; sister-in-law, Rita Sage Bono; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Preceding Erv in death are his parents, parents-in-law Lawrence and Sylvia Sage; brothers-in-law, Earl Johnson, Donald Halverson, James Roach; sisters-in-law, Carol Hinn, Kathy Hinn, and Lorna Malouff. 

Visitation:  The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Presentation Church, 705 Michigan Avenue, North Fond du Lac, from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM. 

Service: At 11:00 AM at Presentation Church on Tuesday, April 15, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Fond du Lac.

Erv’s family is grateful to the staff at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home and Agnesian Hospice Hope for the loving care they to Erv and the family. 

Memorials in his name may be directed to Presentation Church or the Dale Michels Center for Heart Care.
