Ervin T. Jahns

Ervin T. Jahns, age 88, formerly
of Eldorado, died Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home
where he resided for the past three years. He was born April 8, 1930, in Green
Lake, the son of Emil and Olga (Schultz) Jahns. He served in the United States
Army from 1951-54. On September 25, 1954, he married Mernabell Rickert. She
preceded him in death on February 18, 1988. 
Erv worked at Green Giant in Rosendale and Ripon for thirty years until
retiring in 1992. He was a member and very active at St. Peter’s Lutheran
Church in Eldorado where he served as church president and served on the
building committee.  He was actively
involved in ushering, ringing the church bell twenty-one times, maintenance,
lawn care, and enjoyed working with Builders For Christ building the new church.
Erv enjoyed playing sheepshead, gardening, and mechanics.

 

Survivors include four children,
Rhonda (Warren) Schwandt of Ripon, Brenda (Richard) Flier of Waupun, Bruce
(Kris) Jahns of Ripon, Kevin (Rachel) Jahns of Rosendale, seven grandchildren,
Matt (Julie) Toll, Crystal (Dennis-deceased) Krueger, Joshua (Krystle) Flier,
Michael (Katie) Flier, Josiah (Becky) Jahns, Eli Jahns, and Mariah Jahns; one
step-grandson, Jamie Malson; nine greatgrandchildren; three
step-great-grandchildren; his siblings, Donald (Judy) Jahns, Norman (Joan)
Jahns, Ronald (Joann) Jahns, Alice Bazeley, and Ruth Feavel; one sister-in-law,
Phyllis Jahns; one brother-in-law, Darvin Rickert; and many nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife,
Mernabell; infant daughter, Monica; brothers, Harold, Robert, Orlo (Marie),
Melvin; sisters, Edna (Harold) Lehner, Elda (Gordon) Pinch, Carol (Glen)
Reinhold, Shirley Jahns; brothers-in-law, Donald Bazeley and Kenneth Feavel;
one sister-in-law, Alice Rickert.

 

Visitation will take place on Saturday,
December 22, 2018, from 9-11 AM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, N7987 Town Hall
Rd, Eldorado, WI, 54932. Funeral service will follow the visitation at the
church at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow the service at Shrine of Rest
Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac.
