Ethel Bertha Ditter
Ethel Bertha Ditter, 90, of St. Peter, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Villa Loretto in Mt. Calvary. She was born April 1, 1931 in the town of Taycheedah, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Knaus) Schmitz.
On January 19, 1957, she married Raymond Felix Ditter at St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter Wisconsin. Raymond preceded her in death on November 8, 2021.
Ethel served two years as a Nurse’s Aide at St. Agnes Hospital. After marriage she spent the rest of her career farming. She served and gave her time at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Christian Women’s Society.
Survivors include her brother Harold Schmitz of Fond du Lac; two sisters Georgie Smet of Fond du Lac and Patricia (Clem) Mertens of Green Bay, sisters-in-law Mandy Schmitz Wehner and Joan Ditter, both of Fond du Lac, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond; four brothers Orville (Helen), Claude, Norman (Anna Mae), and Ernest; three sisters Edna (Leo) Michels, Mary Agnes (Alex) Emery and Jane (Alvin) Ditter; brothers and sisters-in-law Del Smet, Alice Schmitz, William (Kathleen) Ditter, Harold Ditter, Clarence Ditter, Stella (Clem) Birschbach and Alice (Ralph) Sabel.
SERVICES: Ethel’s family invites relatives and friends to St. Peter Catholic Church in the village of St. Peter on Monday, February 21, 2022 for visitation at 9:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.
Ethel will be laid to rest in St. Peter Cemetery next to her husband, Raymond.
The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at the Villa Loretto and SSM/Agnesian Hospice Hope for the kind care and compassion they have given to Ethel.
