Evangeline J. “Tootie” Krueger

Evangeline J. “Tootie” Krueger, age 82, of Potter, died on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton. She was born April 23, 1932 in the Town of Rantoul, daughter of the late Aaron & Verona (Wesener) Loose. She married Wallace F. Krueger on January 11, 1951 in Potter. She sold Avon products and worked with her husband managing the books of his plumbing business. Both students of history, Tootie and Wally researched and discovered a lot of information on the Potter family and were instrumental in the organization of the Captain Potter Days. She was a master at making a completely new meal out of leftovers and honed her baking skills with the many baked goods she gave to friends and neighbors. She was a very active member of Peace E&R Church in Potter, the Potter Community Association, and had volunteered many hours at the New Hope Center in Chilton. In her free time, she enjoyed embroidering, making puzzles, and playing cards. She especially enjoyed the many card games played while she was a resident, serving as President and Ambassador at the Chilton Care Center. Above all other things, Tootie devoted much of her life to her family, especially the blessing of raising her children. She is survived by her 9 J’s: Joyce Schaefer and her partner Renee Lundberg, Joan (Steven) Schmahl, Judy Hillmann and her special friend, Russel Landwehr, John (Donna) Krueger, Jane (Larry) Krueger, Julie (Bruce) Gerner, Jeff (Karyl) Krueger, Janine (Michael) Bratz, Jamie Krueger; a son-in-law: Glen Schaefer; 27 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Elroy (Bernette) Loose, Gene (Helen) Loose; a brother-in-law: Wayne Wettstein; a sister-in-law: Val “Annabelle” Wettstein; and very, very special friends: Fritz & Abbie Jannette. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Wally; 1 grandchild: Baby Schaefer; and a nephew: Doug Loose. Funeral service will be at 4:30 pm on Monday, November 10, 2014 at Peace Evangelical & Reformed Church (181 Main St.) in Potter with the Rev. Dr. Marc Axelrod officiating. Burial will be in the Potter Cemetery.
