Fern E. Zielieke

On the snowy night of March 12, 2017, Jesus came and took Fern by the hand and she went with Him to her heavenly home. Fern, 88, resided in Campbellsport. 



She was born on Sept. 29, 1928 in the Town of Eden, the daughter of Henry and Clara (Robson) Burmeister. 



On April 5, 1947, Fern married Atville “Fritz” Zielieke at the First Baptist Church in Fond du Lac. Fern was employed by St. Joseph Convent where she was a cleaning lady for 18 years. 



Fern was also employed as a private cleaning lady for many years. 



Fern loved reading, doing picture puzzles and helping friends and relatives. 





On December 8, 2012, Fern exchanged marriage vows with Edwin Thomson of Fond du Lac. They lived as husband and wife until his passing on May 4, 2015 at Ivy Manor in Campbellsport. Fern was a longtime member of the Fond du Lac Assembly of God Church. In her later years, Fern was faithful to the Campbellsport Alliance Church. 



Fern’s beloved children include Allen (Patty) Zielieke, Kerry (Ken) Henschel, Kathie (Donald) Gitzel and Randy (Barbara) Zielieke, and grandchildren include Stacy (Lee) Dreikosen, Kelly (Mike) Benike, Courtney Zielieke, Thomas Zielieke, Kimberly (Ben) Streeter and Christopher (Danielle) Zielieke. Fern’s great grandchildren are Stone Streeter, Jaylah Penneau, Oakley and Truman Zielieke, Emily and Alaina Dreikosen and Kendall and Bo Benike. Fern was blessed to have step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her nieces Barb Kirst, Lori Rooker, Linda Schwinn, Eileen Hoftizer and Ann Schneider. 



Fern was preceded in death by her husbands Atville Zielieke and Edwin Thomson. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister Dorothy Burmerister, brother Lester Burmeister and sister Rosella Ernst. 



Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 16th at 6:30 PM at the Campbellsport Alliance Church, N1876 County Road V, Campbellsport. 



Rev. Doug Birr will officiate and burial will be Friday March 17th at 9:00 AM in Union Cemetery, Campbellsport. 



Visitation will be Thursday, March 16th from 4:00 PM until time of services at the Campbellsport Alliance Church. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to the Campbellsport Alliance Church or the Campbellsport Public Library 



Fern’s Children are grateful for the loving care of the staffs at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac and Ivy Manor in Campbellsport.
