Frances V. Deuster
Frances Valerie (Semenas) Deuster, 90, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018. She was born in Fond du Lac on January 31, 1928, the daughter of Paul and Mary Semenas of North Fond du Lac.
Fran attended school at Presentation, St. Mary Springs and North Fond du Lac High School. She then attended Fond du Lac Business College and upon graduation worked at Richman Bros., then became Credit Manager for Spiegels in Fond du Lac.
She married Calvin J. Deuster at Presentation Church in North Fond du Lac on Sept. 2, 1950. During the first 30 years of married life, she lived in North Fond du Lac, Menasha, Georgia, Kansas, Seattle, Los Angeles, Kansas City, Chicago, Madison and St. Paul. Upon Cal’s retirement, she and Cal returned to live on Linden Beach for the past 30 years. They have been members of Holy Family Church-St. Peter during this time since 1985.
Fran enjoyed sports and became the Illinois State Womens Senior Racquetball Champion in 1978. She also played in golf leagues at Ledgewood and Camelot. She enjoyed her family, activities with her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her later years, she enjoyed feeding her birds and squirrels as well as caring for her house plants.
Survivors include her husband Cal; three sons, Fr. Matthew of the Vatopaidi Monastery in Greece, Bob (Melinda) of Glenview IL and Dan (Mary) of Fond du Lac; two granddaughters, Danielle (Jason) Muellenbach and Shauna (Matt) Wiegel; great-granddaughters, Isabella and Scarlet; step-grandchildren, Sara, Lucas and Trent; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Alex (Mary) Semenas.
Services: The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division Street in Fond du Lac. A short memorial service will follow the visitation. Cremation has taken place.
