Gary Peter Wischnewski

Gary Peter Wischnewski passed away peacefully, at the tender
age of 67, in the loving embrace of his wife and children. He bravely fought
gastric cancer for six years.

 

Gary “Wisco” was born October 27, 1947, in Fond du Lac, the
son of Ralph and Marie (nee Felda) Wischnewski. On February 13, 1971, he
married Jo Ellen Thorpe at Salem Evangelical United Methodist Church of Fond du
Lac.

 

Gary graduated Goodrich Senior High School in 1965 and went
on to earn his bachelor’s degree in political science at the University of
Wisconsin–Oshkosh. His 40-plus-year career in banking and finance at Fox Valley
Savings and National Exchange Bank & Trust led him to positively impact the
lives of countless customers and especially his dear co-workers and friends. He
dedicated countless hours to the betterment of the Fond du Lac-area community
as a proud 40-year member of the Noon Optimist Club. He left the earth with a
full spirit, heart and soul, as a lifelong member of Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran
Church and dedicated follower of Jesus Christ.

 

Gary’s indomitable spirit, compassionate character, and
cherished memory live on in his wife, Jo; daughter, Marne (Dan) Stück; sons,
Nathan and Ben (Colleen); grandsons, Jack and Brock Stück; brother, Jim
(LouAnn); uncle, Robert; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

 

Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 19, 2015, from 10:00
a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church, 20 Wisconsin American
Drive, Fond du Lac.

 

The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. and will be
officiated by Pastor Tom Meyer and Pastor Susan Sheffer-Meyer. All family and
friends are invited to attend a luncheon directly following the funeral service
at Immanuel- Trinity, after which time the immediate family will attend a
private entombment at Rienzi Cemetery.
